Richmond Quest Lecture Series

January 25, 2008

The following Richmond Quest lecture series is offered in conjunction with the School of Continuing Studies class ART 314U: 20th Century American Art. Like the course, these lectures will focus on connections between past and present - “the connections that make us human and propel us forward” - by examining how key events, ideas and figures in American history have been interpreted in their own day and re-interpreted in the visual and film arts of later historical periods.  How are the images connected (and/or disconnected) and how do they accrue meaning over time?  All lectures are free and open to the public, and will be held in the Adams Auditorium in Boatwright Memorial Library.
