Student Named George Squires Scholar

July 29, 2008

Dawn Ball, current School of Continuing Studies student earning a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree, has been named the George Squires Scholar from the University of Richmond School of Continuing Studies. The scholarship will enable Ball to attend the 2008 James River Writers Conference, held October 10-11 at The Library of Virginia.

SCS Librarian Starts ESM Research Blog

Carrie Ludovico, SCS Instruction Librarian, has started the ESM Research Blog to raise awareness of research tools available in the field of emergency management. As Ludovico writes in the initial blog entry:

The purpose of this blog is to provide a convenient way for ESM students at the University of Richmond to stay current on the latest research and research tools in the field.

Leadership in Education Director to Discuss Race

Dr. Thomas J. Shields, director of the Center for Leadership in Education (a collaborative effort of the School of Continuing Studies and the Jepson School of Leadership Studies) will participate in a panel discussion titled “A Conversation about Race and Politics” on July 19, 2008.
