Alumna Senoga featured on Education Website

Joanita Senoga, C’06, is featured in an article titled “Best & Brightest: African Teacher Excels as Student, Role Model in U.S.” on the Diverse Issues in Education Website. The feature tells Senoga’s compelling story of working as a teacher in her native Uganda, of fleeing Uganda to escape an unwanted forced marriage, of being reunited with her daughters here in the U.S., and of taking several jobs to earn her degree at the University of Richmond. Partners in the Arts joins SCS at UR Downtown

Partners in the Arts, the region’s premier arts-in-education program, has joined the School of Continuing Studies with offices at UR Downtown. Administration of the Partners in the Arts program has been transferred to the School from the Arts Council of Richmond effective September 15, 2009. The University has hosted the Partners in the Arts Summer Institute for local educators for a number of years. [More...]

Chef Gravely promoted to full-time director

Chef Martin Gravely, longtime chef in the School’s Culinary Arts Program, has been promoted to full-time manager of the School’s Culinary Arts Center. Gravely’s former position was part-time coordinator of the Center. His promotion recognizes his leadership and creativity in developing and promoting the Culinary Arts Program as well as the Center.
