Leadership in Education Director to Discuss Race

Dr. Thomas J. Shields, director of the Center for Leadership in Education (a collaborative effort of the School of Continuing Studies and the Jepson School of Leadership Studies) will participate in a panel discussion titled “A Conversation about Race and Politics” on July 19, 2008. 2008 Chocolate Festival Tickets on Sale

Tickets for the 2008 Chocolate Festival are now on sale. The Festival will be held Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the University of Richmond Robins Center. The Festival is presented by the Virginia Chef’s Association to benefit the Chef Otto Bernet Memorial Scholarship Fund. SCS Announces New Master Degree

The School of Continuing Studies is now taking applications for the Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction. The M.Ed. requires 30 graduate credit hours and is open to licensed, practicing classroom instructors with an undergraduate degree. Celebrate Dr. King’s Legacy

The campus community is invited to participate in a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 21, in Cannon Memorial Chapel. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. The full program will last until approximately 3:15 p.m.

The keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Victor Lewis, Director of the Center for Diversity Leadership and an internationally-recognized leader in the field of anti-oppression diversity work and alliance-building. Lewis is best known for his inspiring and catalytic leadership role in “The Color of Fear,” a powerful film about racism. A reception will follow in the Gottwald Atrium.
