Summer Travel/Study Program Featured in Press

One of the University’s summer travel/study programs, The Civil Rights Movement in the South, was featured in a June 17, 2008, article in the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The article, titled “Trip Across the South Opens UR Students’ Eyes,” features the discoveries students and faculty made about past and current conditions in the U.S. South during the special “course in motion.” Learn more about the course at summer.richmond.edu/civilrights.

Dean Kitchen Featured in RichmondNow

David Kitchen, Associate Dean for Strategic Planning and Director of Summer Programs, is included with his wife, Michele Cox, in an article about faculty and staff couples who work at the University. The article, titled “Faculty, Staff Couples Find Mostly Advantages to Campus Jobs,” appears in the March issue of RichmondNow.

Preliminary Summer School Schedule Online

The Preliminary Announcement of the Summer School schedule of classes for 2008 has been posted online and published in The Collegian. You can access the schedule in PDF format at summer.richmond.edu/school. This schedule will be revised leading up to the publication of the final schedule in mid-March 2008.

Coordinator Genovese Earns Bachelor’s Degree

Cheryl Genovese, Summer Programs Coordinator, has completed the requirements for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Strayer University. The degree will be conferred in October. Genovese will graduate with a grade point average of 3.92.
