Professor’s Lecture Airs on C-SPAN Book TV

May 2, 2009

Christopher Catherwood’s April 7 lecture, titled “Winston Churchill: The Flawed Genius of World War II” and co-sponsored by the University of Richmond Office of International Education and School of Continuing Studies Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, will premiere on C-SPAN’s Book TV series on Saturday, May 2, at 4:00 PM EDT. The lecture will re-air on May 9 and May 10. Catherwood’s book of the same title as his lecture is available in the University Book Store.

Professors Taylor and Kitchen Publish Op-Ed

Professor Porcher Taylor, Chair of the Paralegal Studies Program, and Professor David Kitchen, Associate Dean, recently published an opinion piece in the May 2008 issue of Pharmaceutical Executive. The opinion, titled “Bringing in the Green,” discusses the option pharmaceutical executives have in creating and launching a consortium to establish best practices to improve the environment. Dean Brown Honored by Michigan 4-H

Dr. Patricia Johnson Brown, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs, will be inducted as a member of the 2008 class of the Michigan 4-H Emerald Clover Society on June 19, 2008. The society recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of Michigan 4-H alumni. As a nominee, Dean Brown has been selected to receive this honor based on Michigan 4-H youth membership, professional and business achievement, leadership in community service and philanthropy, contributions to or impact on American society and her significant leadership and achievement as a 4-H member.

Deans Narduzzi and Kitchen Promoted

March 12, 2008

Dean James Narduzzi and Associate Dean David Kitchen both received academic promotions recently. Narduzzi was promoted to full professor, while Kitchen was promoted to associate professor.

Since Deans Narduzzi and Kitchen carry academic titles (faculty rank) in addition to their administrative titles, they are eligible for promotion within faculty promotion guidelines. Dean Narduzzi is the first full-time School of Continuing Studies employee to earn the academic rank of full professor.
